Oculus of the Universe

The vault ceiling above is a digital painting inspired by an image titled, "Behemoth Black Hole Found in an Unlikely Place," produced by NASA that depicts a supermassive black hole at the core of a galaxy.

Here, the painting is depicted such that the black hole at the center of the original image is replaced by the vault's oculus. Instead of a dark abyss, we see the sky above. Around this, if you zoom in, you can see the detail of each star painted onto the digital canvas.

The conversion from the original bitmap image from NASA was done through the use of a custom, generalized, algorithm I designed. To learn more, check out the The Mechanical Painter exhibit in the Tools & Experiments wing.

The Centerpiece

The low-poly head that watched visitors from the landing page of the Web4 portfolio. The predecessor and prototype to this museum.

To learn more about it, check out the About the Museum exhibit.
